I used to work in animal control and we busted a house that had a dozen of the little bastards.
The adult son in the house was a known gang leader and was busted for drugs and animal fighting. When the cops went to his house they found 30 plus dogs. They were so neglected that they were feral. Little hairless dervishes! Scary things.
They all got adopted!

It’s also the national dog of Mexico even though you’d think it would be the chihuahua
This dog looks just like the werewolf transformation from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. I wonder if the Mexican director, Alfonso Cuaron, based the appearance of the werewolf in the film to look like this dog.

A baby Xolo, they are really cute, not the most pleasant breed to pet, but they are really goofballs that are just like your normal dog. They do need special skin care routine though.
Also, for us Mexicans, they have huge cultural significance. According to Aztec mythology, this dog guides the souls of the dead across the river *Mictlán* to the afterlife.

Is there only one picture of that breed? Why do I keep seeing that exact same photo posted of Reddit over and over?
Looks like an Egyptian statue.
That’s 49000 dog years
This is what the Chihuahua thinks it looks like to the rest of the world.

This is also a Xoloitzcuintle
found out that the same gene that makes them hairless can also make them toothless and that’s why sometimes they’re tongue hangs out
The statue and hieroglyphs of the dog headed Egyptian god Anubis is almost identical in form and color….amazingly so.

Didn’t Whoopi Goldberg voice one of these in the 90’s?
I had one growing up. We had to sunscreen him in the summer and he had a whole wardrobe of sweaters for the winter
Looks like a military dad saying “I’m tired of your shit.”
Anyone going to bring up Coco the film? And this breed being represented within the movie?
It’s interesting how it looks like the dog-headed Egyptian Gods, given that both Aztecs and Egyptians built pyramids.

Dog has the look those generals did when they were summoned for the meeting a few weeks ago ,but without the uniform. I like it.
Now I get why the chupacabra is attributed to a hairless dog. This looks like every picture of a chupacabra I’ve ever seen.
I’ve seen a dude somewhere that looks exactly like this dog.

This guy hasn’t been a good boy since he became Zuul

I had a chance to pet one. It was gross.. Like petting someone’s sweaty forehead. But still a good doggo.

That’s just Anubis, y’all.
Reminds me of Anubis from “Stargate”.
It’s nice to know the history behind the dog in meme I stole.
